This was an interesting little piece to paint. My reference photo was taken out of my car window while I was driving home from a visit to my hometown in South Georgia.
I LOVED the very diluted greens and grays in this winter scene of trees and grasses - thus the name of the painting, " Greens and Grays".
The softness and the paleness of the winter grasses and the bare tree branches against the sky made a beautiful composition and also a stark contrast to each other. It caught my eye - I slowed down enough to snap the picture !
